The GreenMarket in the City of West Palm Beach recently hosted the second annual “Rovers in the Park” Dog Fashion Show, a delightful event that drew in numerous canine enthusiasts. The show, presented by Land Rover Palm Beach, took place on Saturday, February 22, starting at 10:30 a.m. and featured a variety of activities that celebrated the bond between humans and their furry companions.
Numerous local pet rescues participated in the event, including Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Furry Friends Humane Clinic & Ranch, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, and more. The highlight of the show was a pet fashion parade where dogs of all sizes strutted down the runway with their owners. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs from the participating rescues.
Apart from the fashion show, the event also showcased various pet-related vendors offering products and services catering to pets and their owners. Attendees could explore different offerings, including an artist who painted pet portraits and a workshop where personalized dog tags could be created. These activities aimed to promote creativity and customization within the pet community.
The GreenMarket, currently in its 30th season, provided a vibrant backdrop for the event, with over 130 vendors offering a diverse range of products, from fresh produce to baked goods and artisanal items. The market, a longstanding tradition in the city, continues to attract both residents and visitors alike.
Visitors were encouraged to enjoy the GreenMarket offerings before and after the fashion show. The market’s location on the Great Lawn at 100 N. Clematis Street in West Palm Beach provided a picturesque setting for the day’s festivities. Admission to both the fashion show and the GreenMarket was free, with attendees welcome to bring their dogs on short leashes.
Parking was available in the city’s public garages, with the Banyan and Evernia garages being the closest to the event venue. Those arriving by boat could also utilize the city’s free public docks, with the Clematis Street Dock being the most convenient for market access.
Overall, the “Rovers in the Park” Dog Fashion Show was a heartwarming celebration of the special bond between humans and their canine companions. The event not only entertained attendees but also raised awareness about pet adoption and showcased the diverse offerings of the GreenMarket. Through such initiatives, the city of West Palm Beach continues to foster a pet-friendly and vibrant community for all.
