A Border Collie named Gus was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called Pannus, which could lead to blindness if left untreated. Chloe Godliman, Gus’ owner, noticed a pink cloudy patch in his eye and was devastated by the diagnosis. The condition manifests as a pink mass on the cornea, leading to visual impairment if left untreated.
The progression of Pannus involves the formation of dark pigmented lesions and scarring on the cornea, potentially resulting in blindness. Treatment typically involves topical corticosteroids or immune-modulating drugs, along with UV protection, such as dog sunglasses like Doggles®.
